BPro Messaging

Your texts, finally organized.

No ads. No subscriptions. No B.S.

Getting started ↑ Top

BPro replaces your phone's texting app and keeps every message right on your device — nothing is uploaded anywhere.

⚠️ Coming from Google Messages? Turn off RCS first

This one step saves a lot of confusion. RCS (Google calls it “chat features”) is a special kind of messaging that lives on Google's servers — not on your phone, so no other app, including BPro, can see those messages. If you switch to BPro while RCS is still on, some conversations — especially group texts — can look frozen: older messages show fine, but new ones simply stop appearing. One-to-one texts may keep working, which makes it confusing.

Before you make BPro your default, turn RCS off:

Open Google Messages → tap your profile photo (top-right) → Messages settings → RCS chats → turn it Off, and wait until it confirms it's turned off. Then set BPro as your default (below).

Already switched and a thread looks stuck? Turn Google Messages back on, set it as default for a moment, turn RCS off as above, then switch back to BPro. Your number leaves Google's RCS system and new messages flow into BPro again. (If you can't open Google Messages at all, search “disable Google RCS / message chat features” for Google's official turn-off page — the web address changes now and then.)

Why can't BPro just show RCS messages? Google keeps RCS to itself and doesn't let other apps use it — it's a Google rule, not a BPro limit. With RCS off, everything arrives as normal texts and picture messages that BPro handles perfectly.

Set BPro as your texting app Free

Where: BPro asks the first time you open it — tap “Set as default.” (Or Android Settings → Apps → Default apps → SMS app → BPro.)

Until you do this, BPro can show your texts but can't send or receive them. Setting it as default fixes that — and your existing conversations appear automatically. Coming from Google Messages? Turn off RCS first (see the note above) so no group texts go missing.

Find your settings Free

Where: tap the gear icon in the top-right of your inbox.

Everything you can personalize — themes, colors, text size, smart tabs, backgrounds, fonts, and your notification sound — lives here.

Help & support Free

Where: Settings → Help & support.

Open this User Guide any time, or tap Contact support to email us — your app version and device are filled in for you.

Organizing your inbox — tabs ↑ Top

Tabs are what make BPro different. Sort your conversations into named groups so work, family, and everything else stay separate.

Custom tabs 3 free Unlimited Pro

Where: the chip row under the search bar → tap “+ New tab.”

Create tabs like Work, Family, or Church. To add a conversation, long-press it and choose Move to tab. Free includes 3 custom tabs; Pro removes the limit.

Rename, delete, reorder a tab Free

Where: tap a tab you're already on to open Edit tab.

Rename it, delete it, or use Move left / Move right to change the tab order.

Smart tabs — auto-sorting Free

Where: Settings → Smart tabs (toggle each on/off).

BPro automatically sorts OTP (one-time codes), Notifications (store and bank alerts), and Spam into their own tabs, so your real conversations stay clean. The Notifications and Spam tabs sit at the end of the tab row — they're used less often, so your All, OTP, Favorites, and custom tabs stay in easy reach. Want a certain chat to always land in OTP or Notifications (or never)? Long-press it and set that (Pro).

Pin & favorite Free

Where: long-press a conversation → Pin or Favorite.

Pinned conversations stay at the top. Favorites collect under the ★ tab for one-tap access to the people you text most.

Select several at once Free

Where: tap a conversation's avatar/photo to start selecting.

Then use the top bar to add them all to a tab, delete them, or (in the Spam tab) rescue them back to your inbox at once.

Keep a tabbed chat in All Free

Where: long-press a conversation → “Also show in the All tab.”

By default a tabbed conversation leaves All. Turn this on for specific chats you want to see in both places. (Prefer every chat to always show in All? Settings → Behavior → turn “Tabs act as folders” off.)

Choose your starting tab Free

Where: Settings → Default inbox tab.

Pick which tab BPro opens to — All, ★ Favorites, or any custom tab — so the conversations you care about most are the first thing you see.

Sending messages ↑ Top

Text, photos, files & camera Free

Where: tap the + in the message bar → Photos, Camera, or File.

Send texts, photos, and files. Pick several photos at once from your gallery (tap the × on a thumbnail to drop one before you send), or choose Camera to snap a new photo right there. BPro shrinks big photos to fit and warns you if they won't. Group messages work too — add several people when you start a new message.

Voice message clips Free

Where: tap the + button in the message bar → Voice message → record → Stop.

Record and send a short voice clip (up to 2 minutes). You can play it back before sending, and clips play right inside the conversation.

Dictate instead of type Free

Where: tap the microphone icon in the message bar and start talking.

Speak and BPro types your message out for you — hands-free, handy while driving or when typing is a chore. (This is different from a Voice message, which sends the actual audio recording.)

Share into BPro from any app Free

Where: in any app, tap Share → pick BPro Messaging.

Found a photo, a link, or some text in another app? Share it straight to BPro and it opens a new message with that photo or text ready to go — pick who to send it to and hit send. No copy-and-paste.

Reactions Free

Where: long-press a message → tap an emoji.

React with 👍 ❤️ 😂 and more. On a received text, BPro sends an iPhone-style “Reacted ❤️ to…” so the other person sees it too.

Undo send Free

Where: a short “Sending… UNDO” bar appears after you hit send (toggle in Settings).

Caught a typo? Tap UNDO within a few seconds and your message comes right back to the box.

Reading & managing conversations ↑ Top

Search Free

Where: the magnifier icon at the top of your inbox.

Search across contacts, conversations, and message text — even in very large message histories.

Read aloud Free

Where: long-press a message → Read aloud.

BPro speaks the message out loud — handy for driving or accessibility.

Tap numbers, addresses & links Free

Where: automatic — inside any message.

Phone numbers, street addresses, and web links become tappable: call, open maps, or open the link. You can also select and copy just part of a message.

Share & forward Free

Where: long-press a message → Share or Forward.

Forward a text or photo to another conversation, or share it out to any other app.

Lock a message Free

Where: long-press a message → Lock message.

Protect a message you never want to lose — a confirmation number, an address, something sentimental. A locked message can't be deleted until you unlock it, even in a bulk delete. Long-press again → Unlock message to remove the lock.

Save a photo Free

Where: tap a photo to open it → Save picture.

Tap any photo in a conversation to view it full-screen, then Save picture to keep it in a BPro album in your gallery. Photos always show the right way up, portrait or landscape.

Notifications & sounds ↑ Top

Default message tone Free

Where: Settings → Notifications → Default message tone.

Choose the sound BPro plays for new messages.

Per-conversation tone Free

Where: long-press a conversation → Notification tone.

Give a specific person or group their own sound so you know who's texting without looking.

Reply from the notification Free

Where: automatic — on the incoming-message notification.

Tap Reply to respond without opening the app, or Mark as read to clear it.

Staying safe ↑ Top

Spam filtering Free

Where: automatic — likely spam lands in the 🚫 Spam tab.

BPro quietly filters scam texts from unknown numbers. Long-press to Report as spam or mark Not spam — and in the Spam tab you can rescue several at once.

Block a number Free

Where: long-press a conversation → Block number.

Blocked senders stop notifying you. Unblock the same way whenever you like.

Leave a group text Free

Where: long-press the group → Leave this group (or tap the group's name at the top of the conversation → Leave this group).

Added to a group text you never asked to be in? Plain text-message groups aren't stored on any server — they're just a list of numbers each phone types in — so no app can take your number off one. Only the people texting can. What BPro can do is get the group out of your way: no more notifications, ever, and the thread moves out of All and your tabs into a Left groups tab. Nothing is deleted, and Rejoin puts it back any time.

Leaving is silent. Nothing is sent and nobody is told — the group carries on with no idea you've stepped back. If you do want off the list for good, tick Also ask to be removed and choose who hears it: everyone in the group, or privately to one person — usually whoever started it. A private ask goes as an ordinary one-to-one text; the rest of the group sees nothing.

Emergency SOS ↑ Top

Set up trusted contacts and reach them fast in an emergency. Every safety feature is free — no Pro required — and everything stays on your device.

Set up Emergency SOS Free

Where: Settings → Emergency SOS.

Add the people who should receive your SOS — from your contacts or by typing a number — and pick or write the messages you might send. Turn on Include my location to add a Google Maps link with your coordinates.

Send an SOS Free

Where: the Emergency SOS screen → press and hold a message.

Holding for a moment — so it can't fire by accident — texts that message to all your emergency contacts at once. A double buzz confirms it sent, and BPro slips back to your home screen so nothing stays on display.

Home-screen SOS tile Free

Where: long-press your home screen → Widgets → BPro → add the tile.

The Helpline tile opens Emergency SOS in one tap — the fastest way to reach it when it matters most.

Stealth mode Free

Where: Settings → Emergency SOS → Stealth mode (advanced).

Optional privacy for risky situations: the tile can look like a Notes, Weather, or Lifeline app. Tapping it opens that innocent-looking screen; long-press its title to reach SOS. It's slower to reach on purpose — practice it first, and leave it Off for the fastest help.

💡 For a life-threatening emergency, also turn on your phone's built-in Emergency SOS (Android Settings → Safety & emergency). It can call your local emergency number and works from the lock screen — BPro needs your phone unlocked. In real danger, call your local emergency number. In the US and Canada that's 911; the UK 999, Australia 000, New Zealand 111. For domestic abuse, contact a helpline where you live — in the US, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233.

Making it yours ↑ Top

Personalize the whole app, or give a single conversation its own look.

Theme, accent color & text size Free

Where: Settings → Theme / Text size.

Light, dark, or match your phone; pick from seven accent colors; and set a comfortable text size.

Chat backgrounds Colors + 6 photos Full library Pro

Where: Settings → Chat background.

Free includes all the color backgrounds plus six photo backgrounds. Pro unlocks the full photo library — and lets you use your own photo.

Fonts 2 free More in Pro

Where: Settings → Font.

Free includes Serif and Sans-serif alongside the system default. Pro adds the stylish fonts — Handwriting, Comfortaa, Pacifico, Bebas Neue, and Monospace.

Background & colors per conversation Colors free Photo Pro

Where: the palette icon in a conversation's top bar.

Give one conversation its own background and accent color. Colors are free; setting a photo background for a single conversation is Pro.

Backup & restore Free

Where: Settings → Backup & restore.

Save an encrypted backup of your setup — tabs, Quick Replies, to-dos, workspace notes, contact tags, reminders, your SOS setup, and settings — protected by a password only you know. Restore it any time, or when you set up a new phone. (Your actual texts live in Android's own message store, so those aren't in the backup — to keep a copy of messages, use Export.)

This is free for everyone. BPro keeps nothing on a server, so a backup is the only way to carry your setup to a new phone — we're not going to charge you to keep your own things. BPro will remind you if it's been a while.

BPro Pro Pro ↑ Top

Pro is a one-time $4.99 unlock — no subscription, ever. It turns BPro into a working tool: messages that send themselves at the right time, replies you don’t have to retype, and a record you can hand to someone else. Everything below is Pro; everything else in this guide is free. BPro Platinum includes all of it.

Scheduled send Pro Repeat: Platinum

Where: type a message, then tap the clock icon in the message bar.

Pick a date and time and BPro sends it for you — perfect for business hours or a birthday text you don't want to forget. It waits safely in the app (even through a restart), and any message still waiting shows above the box with an × to cancel. It can repeat — every day, week, or month.

Quick Replies Pro

Where: the bolt icon in the message bar.

Save messages you send often and drop them in with one tap. Great for “On my way,” hours, or directions.

Priority alerts Pro

Where: long-press a conversation → Priority alerts.

For your most important people, the alert keeps sounding until you see it.

Auto-reply per tab Pro

Where: Edit tab → Auto-reply.

Turn on an out-of-office style reply for a whole group. BPro answers once per person (and never replies to codes or spam).

Signatures per tab Pro

Where: Edit tab → Signature.

Automatically add your name or business to the end of every message you send in that tab.

Per-tab tones Pro

Where: Edit tab → Notification tone for this tab.

Every conversation in a tab shares one sound — so Work sounds different from Family.

Follow-up reminders Pro

Where: long-press a conversation → “Remind me about this…”

Set a time to be nudged about a conversation so nothing slips through the cracks.

Export a conversation Pro

Where: the share icon in a conversation's top bar.

Save a full conversation as a spreadsheet (with a media folder for photos and files) — ideal for keeping business records.

Add event to Calendar from a message Pro

Where: long-press a message → Add to calendar.

BPro reads the date and time out of the message and pre-fills a new calendar event for you.

BPro Platinum Platinum ↑ Top

Platinum is the top tier — a one-time $9.99 unlock that turns BPro into a personal command center. It includes everything in Pro, plus these tools. Everything stays on your device.

People Platinum

Where: Settings → BPro Platinum → People.

Everyone you’ve tagged or written a note about, in one list. Filter by tag — Client, Family, Church, whatever you use — and sort by who you haven’t texted longest, so the people who have quietly gone cold come to the top instead of disappearing down the inbox.

At the top it tells you the thing you’d otherwise never notice: “4 people you haven’t texted in 30 days” — or, with a tag selected, how many of your clients have gone quiet. Tap anyone to open their conversation.

It counts messages only — BPro can’t see your phone calls, so if you rang someone last week it won’t know. Also on the PC Sync desktop.

To-Do list Platinum

Where: Settings → BPro Platinum → To-Do list.

Keep a simple on-device task list — add, check off, reorder by priority with the up/down arrows, edit, and clear finished tasks. You can also turn any text into a task: long-press a message and choose Add to to-do.

Daily Workspace Platinum

Where: Settings → BPro Platinum → Daily Workspace.

Jot or dictate quick notes that file themselves under Today, Yesterday, and dated headings. Capture a thought by voice without leaving a conversation: tap + → Dictate a note in the message bar and it saves straight to your workspace.

Contact notes & tags Platinum

Where: the tag icon in a conversation's top bar.

Keep a private note and colored tags on any conversation — a mini-CRM for the people you text. Jot “prefers texts · buys monthly · spouse Jane,” tag them VIP or Lead, and the tag icon fills in so you know at a glance.

Needs-reply tracker Platinum

Where: long-press a conversation → Mark: Needs my reply / Waiting on them. See them all in Settings → BPro Platinum → Needs Reply.

Flag the conversations you still owe a reply — or that you're waiting to hear back on. A small marker shows in your inbox, and the Needs Reply list gathers every open loop in one place so nothing slips through.

Personalized Quick Replies Platinum

Where: the ⚡ Quick Replies button → New Quick Reply → Insert field.

Add fields like {first} or {date} to a saved reply and they fill in for each contact when you use it — so “Hi {first}, confirming {date}” becomes a personal message with one tap. Builds on Pro's Quick Replies.

Export everything Platinum

Where: Settings → BPro Platinum → Export conversations.

Save all your conversations at once — or just one tab — as a spreadsheet, with an optional date range. Perfect for records or a full backup of your message history. (Pro exports one conversation at a time; Platinum does the whole inbox.)

Dashboard Platinum

Where: Settings → BPro Platinum → Dashboard.

See your reply time, your busiest hours, and who's still waiting to hear back from you — all computed right on your device, nothing uploaded.

PC Sync — BPro on your computer Platinum · beta ↑ Top

Use BPro on your computer — over your own wifi, with nothing going to the cloud and no account to create. Read and reply to texts, work your to-dos, notes, and contact tags, and get a pop-up on your PC when a new text arrives.

Turn on PC Sync Platinum

Where: Settings → BPro Platinum → PC Sync.

Flip the switch on. Your phone shows a web address (like http://192.168.1.123:8787) and a 6-digit pairing PIN. A “PC Sync active” notification stays up while it's running — tap Stop there, or flip the switch off, when you're done.

Two ways to open it

Where: any computer on the same wifi.

1. Any web browser — type in the address your phone shows and enter the PIN. 2. The BPro Platinum Desktop app (Windows) — a real window that also pops up notifications for new texts (see below). Same command center either way — your choice, and you can use both.

Read, reply & organize

Where: once connected, in the browser or the app.

Click any conversation to read the whole thread with dates and times, and type a reply and Send it from your keyboard. Your pinned conversations stay at the top here, just like on your phone. The Needs Reply tab gathers everyone you still owe an answer. Work your to-dos — add, check off, edit, or delete — and your Daily Workspace notes the same way. Open a conversation to add a private contact note and tags, your at-a-glance CRM. All without picking up your phone.

Save or forward a photo Platinum

Where: hover over any photo in a conversation.

Two buttons appear on the photo: Save downloads the full-size picture to your computer, and Forward sends it on to another conversation. When you forward, just search for the person by name — no scrolling through every chat. Photos also show the right way up, portrait or landscape.

The desktop app (Windows) Platinum

Where: install BPro Platinum Desktop on your PC.

Run the installer, then — because it's a small independent app — Windows may warn “unknown publisher.” Click More info → Run anyway. Open it, enter your phone's address and PIN once, and it remembers your phone after that. Closing the window tucks it into the tray so it keeps watching for texts; right-click the tray icon (by the clock) to Start with Windows or to re-pair.

Not getting notifications on your PC?

Good to know

If new-text pop-ups aren't showing on your computer, check Windows first: turn off Do Not Disturb / Focus (Settings → System → Notifications), and make sure notifications are turned on for BPro Platinum Desktop in that same list. Then confirm PC Sync is on and the app is actually running — look for its icon in the tray by the clock.

On a work or public network?

Good to know

The address your phone shows changes with the network (home wifi is often 192.168.…; many offices use 10.…) — that's normal, just use whatever your phone shows. But a lot of work, school, and public wifi blocks devices from reaching each other, so PC Sync may not connect there. The fix: turn on your phone's hotspot and connect your computer to it — now both are on the same private network and PC Sync works anywhere.

Your privacy, kept: PC Sync runs only on your local wifi — nothing is uploaded to any cloud or server, and there's no account. The desktop app stores nothing on your computer; it only shows your phone's live screen. The pairing PIN keeps anyone else on the network out, and it works only while you have it switched on.
